bobs tragedy

He had kept their mother alive in his thoughts. Too alive, perhaps.

Bob the Builder was a small-town construction guy. He got into the trade when he was 18, his mother had just died and his twin brother refused to take over the family business, instead fleeing to Mexico. Bob had his friends, and they helped with the business (albeit they were talking tools), but he never got too close to anyone. Instead, he focused on work and helping the people of his town.

Bob had lived in the loft of his construction business building, where he kept a picture of his mother with her memorabilia. He never let anyone up there– not even his talking tools.

One afternoon, Bob was crying at his mothers picture. It had been a particularly hard day and he just felt broken. His mother had been his best friend, and this was the 8 year anniversary of her death.

“I miss you mom.” Bob said, tears streaming down his face.

“I’m right here.”. A voice said, seemingly all around Bob. He shot up from his kneeling position and looked around, “Hello?” he shouted, rubbing the wet tears from his cheeks.

“It’s me, Bob, it’s mom!” the voice said again, he could not pinpoint where it was coming from. And the voice did sound like his mom. “Mommy?!” he shouted, running towards the voice.

He ran out to the hallway and saw his brother standing there, holding a voice changing device.

“Hey little bro.”

Bob was so filled with anger that he ran towards his brother and pushed him. But the force was so strong that his brother fell out of the window of the loft, which had been left open. Bob screamed in fear and ran downstairs and outside to find his brother.

“Tom!” he shouted, running towards him, “I’m so sorry!”. He sat next to his brothers unconscious body and quickly shouted for his tools, who had noticed him running. They called 911, and as they waited for the ambulance, Tom said “I just wanted to make grandfather Billy proud… I’m so sorry Bob. I am the reason mom is dead.” Then Tom’s eyes rolled to the back of his head and the ambulance came.

Later that night, Bob was in custody of the police. He had quickly grabbed the small photo of his mother and he was in his cell, crying. A knock on the wall caused him to look up. It was Tom.

Bob shot up and ran towards Tom, “Youre okay Tom??” he asked quickly looking him over through the cells bars. “Yeah, not the first time I’ve fallen from an 8 story building.”. “So you.. Killed mom?” Bob asked, still sobbing. “Yes. I was the reason she jumped in front of that train. She was trying to save me.” Bob gasped, “THAT’S how she died? No one ever told me!” he shouted in anger, trying to contain himself.

“I know Bob, I know. I love you brother.”

Tom bailed Bob out of jail and they agreed to work on the family business together. Sadly, Tom stole Bob’s love interest, Wendy, and Bob ended up murdering Tom in a crime of passion. Bob is now spending life in prison.
